There are Ashes plots and an RSA burial and ashes area.

Kaiapoi Public Cemetery opened in 1884. Lots were drawn to allot the sections for each denomination.

Burial plots in the new section are not divided by denomination but in the old section plots are divided into religious denominations (this area is closed for burials).
